The judicial remand of Gali Janardhan Reddy and B.V. Srinivasa Reddy in the illegal mining cases was extended to December 3 by the First Additional Metropolitan Sessions Court (First AMS Court) here on Monday.
The first two accused in the case were produced through video-conference facility for the purpose of extending their remand.
First AMS Judge Laxmipathi, who heard the case in the absence of CBI Special Court Judge B. Naga Maruthi Sarma, remanded the two only till December 3 though the CBI counsel sought it for 15 days. Meanwhile, the same court has postponed the Income Tax Department plea for taking over the cash and gold jewellery worth over Rs. 5 crore seized by the CBI officials during their search of Mr. Janardhan Reddy's residence in Bellary after his arrest to December 7.
The I-T Department appealed to the court that it would adjust the amount to the tax dues of Mr. Reddy.
