Though the State government announced Prajapatham as a prestigious programme and Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy formally launched it on Sunday, in the district it was launched on Monday.
Except for Women and Child Welfare Minister V. Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, neither Deputy Chief Minister C Damodar Rajanarsimha nor Major Industries Minister J. Geeta Reddy bothered to participate in the programme.
In Narsapur constituency, people questioned the officials about drinking water shortage in the presence of the Minister. Similarly, they also questioned about erratic power cuts. The programme witnessed protests at several places with people demanding drinking water supply and payment of better wages under MNREGS.
Women with empty pots obstructed Narayankhed legislator P Kishta Reddy at Manoor. He was allowed to move only after assuring to address the water problem. At Chinnashankarampet mandal people said that they were not aware of the programme.
