NEW DELHI: Rahul Mahajan spent his first night inside the high-security Tihar Central Jail here in the company of two undertrials on Thursday.
In view of Rahul's poor health, the jail authorities sent him to the Medical Ward, No. 4 of Jail No. 3, where two undertrials were already lodged. He was given a bedsheet and a blanket. After dinner, he complained that he was not able to sleep and was given some medicine.
On Friday morning, the jail hospital doctors again gave him some medicine as he was feeling uneasy. "No one from his family came to meet him today, perhaps due to the heavy media presence," a jail official said. Rahul was arrested under the Narcotics Act on June 5.
Meanwhile, a police team took the other accused in the case, Sahil Zaroo, to Srinagar and mounted raids on his residence and that of his maternal uncle.
