Pulse Polio: over 3 lakh to be covered in Bijapur district

Deputy Commissioner Shivayogi Kalasad inaugurated the four-day Pulse Polio programme by administering polio drops to a baby here on Sunday.

A total of 3,29,778 children in the age group of 0 to 5 will be covered under the programme.

On the first day, polio drops were administered at booths set up across the district.

On the remaining three days, volunteers will go door to door to ensure that no eligible child is left out.

As many as 1,221 booths have been opened in the district and 26 mobile teams are monitoring the programme. The number of volunteers involved in the programme is 2,562, supervised by 254 officers.
