A delegation of 15 fishermen from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are in New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid and demand action to secure the release of fishermen and boats from Sri Lanka.

They will meet Mr. Khurshid on Tuesday evening and the Prime Minister on Wednesday morning, National Fishworkers Forum general-secretary M. Ilango told The Hindu over the phone from New Delhi.

There are 81 fishermen and 41 boats still in Sri Lankan custody. The delegation had demanded their immediate release and sought an end to arrests till fishermen of both nations hold talks and resolved the issue, Mr. Ilango said. .
