Manjeri medical college wins MCI approval

The proposed Government Medical College at Manjeri has won the approval from the Medical Council of India (MCI) for starting academic sessions this year, Health Minister V.S. Sivakumar has said. Accordingly, the new college can give admission to 100 students on the basis of merit for the undergraduate MBBS course this year. This is the first time in the last 30 years that a new medical college is being launched in the public sector in the State. The Manjeri MCH is one among the eight new proposed government medical colleges in the State.
