Nearly five years after he was trapped red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000, Ramakrishna, a Police Sub-Inspector attached to the wireless unit, was convicted by the Special Lokayukta Court on Friday. He was sentenced to two years and three months of imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 15,000.
In a release, Lokayukta ADGP H.N.S. Rao said that Ramakrishna was trapped on July 17, 2008, based on the complaint of Syed Mehboob. Ramakrishna took furniture from Mr. Mehboob’s shop and refused to pay.
