The Union Home Ministry was directed by a court here on Monday to verify the forms for serving summons that were filled up by a complainant who had accused various U.S.-based websites, including Facebook and Google, of promoting enmity between groups and acts inimical to national integrity.

Metropolitan Magistrate Jay Thareja pass the order after the complainant's counsel submitted the forms, required to be filled under an Indo-U.S. Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) treaty for service of summonses.

The Ministry will have to inform the court by December 5 if the forms have been filled in accordance with the norms of the MLAT.
