: The State government has warned of stringent action against petrol pump dealers who do not give customers a reduction of 37 paise a litre in the price of petrol. This 37 paise is the additional sales tax that the State government would have got after the latest hike in the price of petrol. The State government had decided to forgo the additional tax. The reduction should have been given by the petrol pumps from the midnight of Saturday when the revised price came into force. The government issued the warning following complaints that some dealers were not giving the reduction.
