A paramilitary soldier killed three of his colleagues at a remote security camp in Dhalai district of Tripura. Three other security men sustained grave injuries in the shoot-out at Thangkarai in Chawmanu police station limit on Monday evening.
The police said on Tuesday that it all started with a quarrel between two groups of soldiers at a security post of the Tripura State Rifles near the Bangladesh border. Rifleman Bijay Debbarma sprayed bullets from his self-loading rifle, killing one soldier on the spot and injuring five. He fled the scene with his service weapon to Bangladesh, police said.
Two soldiers died later in hospital.
