The Kerala High Court on Wednesday reserved its order on a petition filed by former Minster Jose Thettayil, MLA, challenging the registration of a sexual exploitation case against him.
Counsel for the woman stuck to the stand that Thettayil had sexual intercourse with her without her consent. The petitioner gave her a promise to give his son in marriage to her before sexually exploiting her.
The petitioner and his son had later retraced from their promises, “resulting in such misconception of fact. As such, both of them are liable to be dealt with for the offence under Section 376 IPC”, counsel submitted. — Special Correspondent
