The police have recovered over one quintal of highly inflammable explosives and five kg gun-powder from the Muchurda Valley forest in the naxal-infested Balaghat district.

The explosives, which were hidden in a pit, were recovered during a search operation in the forest, Balaghat's Superintendent of Police Sachin Atulkar told PTI on Wednesday.

“The spot from where this explosive material was recovered is very sensitive, as it is located close to the Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh borders,” he said. Though no one has been arrested in this regard yet, search is on for those responsible. — PTI
