TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams will be distributing one lakh `laddus' to devotees at its information centre in Chennai from January 1.
The information centre-cum-Balaji temple, located on Venkatanarayana Road at T.Nagar, is the highest revenue-fetching centre for the TTD outside Tirumala-Tirupati. The Chennai centre is also known for its heavy rush during auspicious occasions, when queues extend to over two kilometres.
In view of the heavy rush expected right from the dawn of January 1, 2006, the management has dispatched one lakh `laddus' to Chennai to be sold on the special occasion.
The price of each laddu will, however, remain unchanged at Rs.10.
