B.V. Srinivasa Reddy says no aspect of probe is pending against him

Managing Director of Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) B.V. Srinivasa Reddy, who is the first accused in the illegal mining case, appealed to the CBI special court here on Thursday that he be granted bail as no aspect of investigation against him was pending.

Arguing for Mr. Reddy, his counsel V. Surender Rao submitted to the court that except the charge of conspiracy along with the other accused in the case, no new material or evidence was placed either in the charge-sheet filed on December 3, 2011 or in the two supplementary charge-sheets filed subsequently by the CBI.

Mr. Rao contended that his client should not be held responsible for illegal mining when he did not hold the Managing Director’s post of OMC during July 2007-December 2009 period, when the irregularities had taken place as alleged by the CBI.
