Sabitha Indra Reddy, named as fourth accused in the fresh charge-sheet, as she ceased to be Mines & Geology Minister now. Her term as a public servant on being elected as an MLA in 2004 and later appointed as a Mines and Geology Minister expired in 2009 itself, he explained.
They (CBI) had written to the Centre in case of Srilakshmi, the then Secretary, Industries, while V. D. Rajagopal, former director of mines had retired. The Centre had given its nod for prosecution of Srilakshmi under P.C. Act in the illegal mining case against Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) earlier this year. The judge directed the CBI to file memo for issuing summons to the accused.
Meanwhile, the judicial remand of the accused in Jagan assets case and Emaar Properties land deal scam case was extended till April 15.
