BSNL has come out with a new pre-paid plan which it says would free mobile users from the clutter of complicated tariff structures, top-up vouchers and recharge coupons.
The ‘BSNL-SIMPLE- PLAN 100’ simplifies the whole process of mobile usage, from acquiring a new SIM, topping up for talk value and buying recharge vouchers to extend validity.
Under this scheme, the initial charge would be Rs. 100 for the new SIM which would come with a validity of six months. For talk value, the user will have to top up with a minimum of Rs. 100 within six months to have validity for 180 days.
Unlike existing plans, this scheme does not require buying an additional plan voucher for this purpose, a BSNL official said. Existing customers are also allowed to migrate to this plan using the plan voucher of Rs.81 or by just sending an SMS "MSIMPLE" to 53733.
According to the official, the scheme was framed in response to guidelines issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India to simplify and standardise mobile tariff vouchers across operators.
