Hundreds of employees from Nemmadi Kendra centres from across the State on Sunday took out a march here pressing for their demands to be fulfilled.

The protesters picketed the Deputy Commissioner's office and took out a procession from there to the Dasara Exhibition grounds. They demanded that besides regularising their services, they must be paid a consolidated salary of Rs. 10,000. The Government had outsourced the work of distributing income certificates, caste certificates and revenue documents to a private agency in 2006. They alleged that they were not being paid a salary of Rs. 3,500, as promised by the agency at the time of their recruitment.
