KOLKATA: Months after the West Bengal Government decided to call off its project to set up a chemical hub at Nandigram in Purbo Medinipur district in the face of violent protests by a section of the people, the local administration is still unable to function normally in the region.

Recurring violence

“The local administration has not been able to function fully because of recurring violence in the area,” Home Secretary Prasad Ranjan Ray said here on Wednesday.
