New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Saturday reiterated his allegation that the Congress was behind the phone tapping of senior leaders of his party including Amar Singh, despite denial by the Union Home Ministry.
The party has decided to take the issue to the Parliamentary Privilege Committee and court.
Police have arrested one person here in connection with the alleged tapping.
At a rally in Varnasi, Mr. Yadav said he had ample evidence to vindicate his claims. He maintained that the SP leaders, whose phones were being tapped by the Central Government and Delhi Police at the behest of Ms. Gandhi, included Shivpal Singh Yadav, Ramgopal Yadav and Akhilesh Singh Yadav.
``The Centre may also start proceedings to indict me and Amar Singh under fabricated treason charges,'' Mr. Yadav added. - UNI
