Members of the district photographers' and videographers' association took out a procession here on Tuesday and staged a dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office in support of the ongoing agitation by Anna Hazare seeking a strong Lokpal Bill.

The agitators took out a procession from the Kalika temple and stopped at the B.R. Ambedkar Circle. They also raised slogans against the United Progressive Alliance Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

In the present scenario, the country needed a Lokpal Bill that gave total investigative and autonomous prosecuting powers to the Lokpal, they said. Only an effective independent and honest Lokpal and Lokayukta system, with sweeping powers to prosecute and punish anybody except those with constitutional immunity, could control corruption, they added.

The protesters submitted a memorandum addressed to President Pratibha Patil.
