Meira cancels foreign visit

Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has cancelled the visit of a parliamentary delegation led by her to South Africa in view of the horrific gang-rape and murder of the 23-year-old woman in Delhi.

She has also cancelled her visit to Namibia to attend a Commonwealth Speakers’ conference during January 10-13.

The MPs’ delegation was to visit South Africa during January 6-10 at the invitation of the Speaker of the National Assembly.
