With no discussions in sight between the Maharashtra government and the National Alliance of People’s Movement, social activist Medha Patkar on Wednesday entered the seventh day of her indefinite fast called against the nexus of builders, officials and politicians here which is evicting the slum-dwellers in an undemocratic manner.

Ms. Patkar and Madhuri Shivkar started their fast after the State government went ahead with the demolition drive in the slums in Golibar in suburban Mumbai despite a letter from Union Minister Ajay Maken saying that the demolition would be stopped.
