An invigilator, a hostel warden and owner of a photocopying centre were arrested on a charge of encouraging mass copying in the Intermediate Public Examination at Paderu in the district on Wednesday.

On a tip-off, Paderu SI S. Sankara Rao and his team conducted a raid at a photocopying centre near the Paderu Junior College around 9 a.m. on Wednesday. They detected a few true copies of answer scripts and took the warden of the college hostel K. Krishna Rao and the photocopying centre owner N. Srinivasa Rao into custody.

They then went to the college and seized some photocopies of answer scripts that were used for mass copying. They also found that mass copying was going on at the examination centre and arrested invigilator P. Yaswant Appanna.

Paderu DSP P. Srinivasa Rao said the accused were arrested under Section 20 of the AP Public Examinations Prohibition of Malpractices Act. He said that 20 photo copies of the answer scripts were seized in the raid.
