The house of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MP Kameshwar Baitha at Dhanchabar village in Palamu district of Jharkhand was blown up by Maoists late on Tuesday night, police said.

Mr. Baitha, imprisoned for alleged Maoist activities, was released on bail from the Bhabhua jail in Bihar''s Kaimur district last week-end in compliance with an order of the Patna High Court. He has been in jail since 2006 in connection with a dozen cases of Maoist activities in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. He successfully contested the 2009 Lok Sabha polls from behind bars. Police said Maoists blew up the house after the MP appealed to them to join the mainstream and shun violence.
