Holding the Prime Minister “morally responsible” for his “inaction” against the financial loss suffered by the country's exchequer due to the 2G spectrum scam, the Communist Party of India demanded here on Saturday that Manmohan Singh should “come clear and be ready to face an enquiry.”

Seeks arrest

The CPI also demanded the immediate arrest of the former Communications Minister, A. Raja, for his alleged involvement in the scam as well as all those persons who were connected with it in any way. “Aware of the malpractices and irregularities, the Prime Minister had even sent a letter to Mr. Raja in 2007 for following transparent policies. But in spite of innumerable complaints, he did not take any action to restrain Mr. Raja for committing the criminality — may be for the fear of losing the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's support which may affect the government or due to his commitment to free market economy,” CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta said.
