Three days after being hospitalised, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was released from a private nursing home here on Saturday. The doctors treating her have advised rest for two weeks.
Ms. Banerjee was admitted to the nursing home on Wednesday immediately on her return from New Delhi, where she had faced protests outside Yojana Bhavan by activists of the Students’ Federation of India, with body ache and low pulse rate and blood pressure.
“Her vital parameters have stabilised,” a medical bulletin issued by the hospital during the day said, adding that pain in certain parts of her body continued despite medication.
Dr. Subrata Maitra, who was supervising Ms. Banerjee’s treatment, told journalists that her pulse rate and blood pressure were stable.
