As part of Shivaratri celebrations, T.K. Patil Charitable Trust will take out a jatha here on Monday.

Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, joint secretary of the trust R.T. Patil said pujas would begin at 5 a.m. and continue till 10 a.m.

An 85-foot-tall statue of Lord Shiva had been installed at Shivgiri.

A procession would be taken out from Sri Siddeshwar temple to Shivgiri. The former Union Minister Basangouda Patil Yatnal would inaugurate the procession.The trust would felicitate social workers S.D. Kumani and S.F. Dakani for their contribution towards uplifting the poor.

Ministers Murugesh Nirani and Govind Karjolwould participate. Mr. Patil said on April 24, Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda would lay the foundation stone for a residential school for poor students to be built by the trust at Tikota village.
