Forest officials on Tuesday tranquilised a 57-year-old kumki (tamed/trained) elephant in masth and got it chained at the kumki camp at Chadivayal.

In the small hours of Monday, Nanjan started behaving aggressively as a result of masth and got itself unchained.

After taking all precautions, the elephant was tranquilised on Tuesday.

When it was under sedation, the officials got it chained. once again. The elephant was reviving from sedation, officials said on Tuesday evening.

However, the elephant never caused any damage or loss of live.
