Targets tourists from Middle East, Russia

Kerala Tourism Development Corporation Hotels and Resorts (KTDC) has worked out plans to woo tourists, especially those from the Middle East and Russia, during the forthcoming monsoon season.

“The ‘Age Halt’ programme, launched last year, combines Ayurvedic treatment and travel, and has been popular among tourists,” said KTDC Managing Director N. Prashant. ‘Age Halt’ programme provides Ayurveda packages in KTDC’s premium properties in Kovalam, Kochi, Munnar, and Thekkady. “A tourist who opts for a rejuvenation package at one place can move to other properties of KTDC without interruption in the programme,” he said. The duration of the packages ranges from 1-21 days. “More Arabs are now coming for the treatment of lifestyle diseases. They enjoy rainfall and we intend to combine monsoon with Ayurveda,” he said.

The KTDC would soon launch a monsoon package, including Ayurvedic therapy and indoor games, for domestic tourists.

The KTDC would set up a drive-in beach resort on the Muzhappilangad beach in Kannur. The resort would have Ayurveda therapy too. “Director of Tourism Rani George said Kerala Tourism would launch a publicity drive in the Middle East in June to promote Ayurveda tourism.
