The former JD(S) MLA H.M. Vishwanath, who recently joined the Karnataka Janata Paksha, said here on Wednesday that the KJP would impact the results of the coming Assembly elections.

He told journalists that a large number of people from Hassan district would take part in the KJP’s rally scheduled for Sunday in Haveri.

“The party has been attracting people from a large section of society,” he said.

Many leaders, including former MLAs from the district, had expressed their wish to join the KJP, he claimed, and added that there were a large number of aspirants for the party ticket to contest the Assembly elections.

On JD(S) leader H.D. Revanna’s allegation that he had pocketed crores of rupees offered by the former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy during the last elections when he contested from Basavangudi in Bangalore, Mr. Vishwanath said it was a lie.
