Minister for Medical and Health D.L. Ravindra Reddy, the Congress candidate for Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency, made a sensational remark on Tuesday that Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy would be removed soon and he would take over as Chief Minister, when MRPS activists confronted him during his campaign in Mydukur Assembly constituency, represented by him. Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi activists of Manda Krishna group obstructed the Minister in Mirzakhanpalle in Duvvur mandal in Mydukur segment, deploring Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy's apathy towards their demand for micro-classification of Scheduled Castes. Repeated representations to Ministers and the Chief Minister to address a letter to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking steps to introduce a Bill in Parliament for micro-classification of SCs fell on deaf ears, they resented.
Raising slogans against the Congress, the MRPS activists accused the government of inaction. When the protesters insisted that Dr. Ravindra Reddy take initiative to apprise the Chief Minister of their demand, the Minister remarked that Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy would be removed and he would become Chief Minister and would take up the issue.
Thereupon, the MRPS activists cheered him and Dr. Reddy went ahead with his electioneering. The Congress candidate maintained that he would be elected to Parliament from Kadapa with a good margin and would defeat Jagan.
