Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister C. Damodar Rajanarsimha and all the Ministers stayed away from the Secretariat on Thursday, giving the premises a desolated look.
A number of Ministers left the city to attend marriages of their kith and kin, friends and party workers in the various districts of the State.
Not only the weddings, but and the election being held for DCCBs District Central Cooperative Banks and to six Legislative Council seats had also kept them busy.
Staffers on leave
Over 10 to 20 per cent of the 6,000 odd employees working in different blocks of the Secretariat have been on leave for the past few days to attend marriages being performed in thousands all over the State, an official in General Administration Department said.
The premises was devoid of the usual bustle of activity and sight of employees and visitors criss-crossing the blocks.
The Chief Minister confined himself to his camp office throughout the day while Mr. Rajanarsimha kept himself busy fulfilling engagements in his Medak district.
