Prime Minister to inaugurate it on Monday

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy inspected the CoP-11 (Biodiversity) pylon on Friday and asked the officials to expedite the beautification work.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the pylon on Monday that has been built to mark the international conference on biodiversity being held in the city from October 1 to 19.

The State government has allotted 15 acres of land in APIIC layout, Gachibowli, for Pylon, Biodiversity Museum and Park. Officials said that preparatory works of site cleaning, pitting and procuring of plants are done.

The Forest Department is also establishing a separate Biodiversity park in 10 acres at Dulapally Reserve Forests. There are six National Parks, 21 Wildlife sanctuaries, a Biosphere reserve comprising 13,000 sq. kms out of 63,180 sq. kms forest area.
