The Mumbai Crime Branch on Thursday arrested a key gangster of the Dawood Ibrahim gang, along with three others, in connection with the attempt on the life of a city-based builder here two days ago. “We have recovered a 7.65 mm pistol, four live rounds, four mobile phones and two lakh rupees,” Himanshu Roy, Mumbai Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), said in a press conference here.
The arrested include two sharpshooters who had run away after trying to kill builder Manish Dholakia at his South Mumbai-based office. One of his private bodyguards Ajit Yerulkar was killed in the firing. “Five units of Crime Branch co-ordinated and arrested both shooters and two others involved in the planning and execution of the attack ,” Mr. Roy said.
