‘Kakada’, a jasmine variety grown in Badavanahalli in Madhugiri taluk of Tumkur district, is another jasmine variant that deserves a place in the Geographical Indications (GI) registry, a source in the Horticulture Department said.

Jasmine grown in Hoovina Hadagalli in Bellary district and Udupi district has already got the GI tag. “Badavanahalli Kakada can be considered for GI tag. It deserves a place in the list of flowers which have secured the GI tag,” the source said.
