Minister for Cultural Affairs K.C. Joseph has accused the Opposition of denigrating the decorum of the Assembly by upsetting the rules and procedures to suppress the lack of coordination and disunity among them.
Mr. Joseph told reporters here on Wednesday that though Speaker G.Karthikeyan had agreed to grant time to Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan to make his submission on the K.B. Ganesh Kumar issue and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy consented to reply, the Opposition raised a din.
Such violation of rules and procedures was unprecedented in the Assembly. The Opposition members were making a conscious effort to hide dissent and disunity in the CPI(M).
When Mr.Achuthanandan announced walkout from the Assembly on Tuesday and left the floor, the CPI(M) members chose to stay back. They refused to follow Mr.Achuthanandan.
This reflected their poor floor management and lack of coordination.
