Telugu Desam Party (TDP) took exception to YSR Congress president Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy targeting the party on Tuesday, and said he was doing it as he feared the regional party the most.
At a press conference TDP MLA, Payyavula Keshav said it was strange that Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy targets an opposition party and blames it for the plight of the farmers, forgetting that it was the Congress which was ruling the State and the Centre. It means he has entered into a deal with the Congress, where he was born, earned his wealth and again going to join it, he alleged.
Mr. Reddy's return to Congress was confirmed by the comments made by Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram and Defence Minister A. K. Anthony recently, he said. It was because of the deal that Mr. Reddy was being spared, despite amassing wealth, while former Union Minister A. Raja was arrested and DMK MP, Kanimozhi questioned over 2 G Spectrum scam.
Referring to Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy's “new found” concern for farmers, Mr. Keshav wondered why he had remained silent when he was Congress MP. He never raised the issues of Minimum Support Price (MSP) and rise in input costs in Lok Sabha and outside
