The district police introduced two interceptors here on Saturday to effectively enforce traffic rules.
The first one was introduced two years ago.
During a function, Superintendent of Police D.C. Rajappa said the interceptors would be used to check traffic offences, such as drunken driving, over speeding, parking violation and violation of traffic signals.
The interceptor is armed with speed laser guns, digital camera, breath analysers, camera and digital video recorders.
With the interceptor sign in high glow LED system, a public address system and a siren, the vehicle can help police men to catch offenders easily.
The interceptor will help confront errant motorists with evidence, detailing the nature of their offence, he added.
