Several industries celebrated National Safety Day on Tuesday with a pledge to promote safety culture at their workplace.

HSL Chairman and Managing Director Rear Admiral N.K. Mishra administered the pledge at Hamsadhwani auditorium. In his message, he stressed the need for every individual to be safety conscious and ensure strict compliance with safety norms at workplace. Safety Day flag was hoisted by DCI CMD Capt. D.K. Mohanty, who later administered the pledge. In his inaugural address, he emphasised the importance of safety on board dredgers and conveyed preventive measures were to be taken to ensure compliance of safety aspects on ships

RINL CMD P. Madhusudan at a programme at Ukkunagaram observed that steel industry was a very complex and hazardous industry and hence called upon each line of department to emerge as a safety centre to prevent accidents. Andhra Petrochemicals Ltd conducted various competitions for regular and contract employees. COO V.N. Rao congratulated employees for striving to maintain high standards of safety.
