The Indian Air Force’s ongoing modernisation of fleet and weapons puts it among the world’s very best, Air Marshal Rajinder Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Headquarters Training Command, told IAF personnel during the Force’s 80th anniversary on Monday.

In a message to training command personnel, he said they should take pride in being part of a cutting edge Air Force.

Commendations were presented, oaths administered and messages from the President, the Prime Minister, the Defence Minister and the Air Chief were read out.

Earlier, Air Marshal Rajinder Singh placed a wreath at the War Memorial. IAF personnel observed two minutes’ silence as homage to martyrs.
