BJP leader returns to the city after being granted bail by Delhi High Court
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Bangaru Laxman has suspected a conspiracy in framing him in a corruption case following sting operation by the news website Tehelka.com in 2001.
Mr. Laxman returned to the city on Saturday after being granted bail by the Delhi high court. In a brief chat with reporters at the airport, he said he would come out unscathed once the legal process was completed.
The senior leader was arrested on April 27 to serve a four-year imprisonment awarded by a special CBI court for allegedly taking bribe of Rs. 1 lakh.
Senior BJP leaders Bandaru Dattatreya, Ch. Vidyasagar Rao and others welcomed Mr. Laxman who later participated in a party rally that culminated at his residence.
