CBI sleuths probing big-ticket graft cases figure prominently in this year's 24 service medals announced on Thursday for distinguished and meritorious service to agency officers and officials.
The President's Police Medals, announced on the 63rd Republic Day, include names of Joint Director Prabodh Kumar who heads the CBI anti-corruption headquarters; Deputy Inspector General S.K. Palsania who was in-charge of the 2G spectrum allocation case; Additional Superintendent of Police S.S. Giri who is probing the illegal mining case.
Other recipients of President's Police Medal include Rajiv Kumar Tandon who is Joint Director (Administration); Superintendent of Police Anti-Corruption Chennai N.P. Rajeevakshan; Additional Superintendent of Police Special Crime Branch Karnail Singh; Special Unit Inspector Jagdish Prasad and Additional Sub-Inspector (Late) Raj Kishore Singh.
Police Medals for meritorious service have gone to 18 officials. Other IPS officers who received the medal include Deputy Inspector General Binita Thakur who is in-charge of the agency's Interpol wing and Narasimha N. Komar is the Deputy Inspector General at the agency's Banking security division in Bangalore. — PTI
