Actress-turned-politician and former Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Hema Malini on Wednesday said that she had prayed to the presiding deity of the Lord Venkateswara temple here to bestow good health and prosperity on Rajinikanth who turned 62 on Wednesday.
Speaking to mediapersons outside the temple complex, she recalled her family’s association with Rajinikanth and said that he was a close friend of her husband Dharmendra. Earlier, the ignorant temple staff had issued her ordinary VIP darshan tickets.
After realising their mistake, they facilitated comfortable darshan of the deity to her.
She was accompanied by her newly-married daughter Esha Deol and her husband Bharat Takhtani.
