Excessive rainfall in Cuddalore and Villupuram districts disrupted normal life on Friday.

At least three persons were injured in wall collapse incidents at two places. Fishermen did not venture into the sea for the fifth day. Quite a number of low-lying areas were inundated. Cuddalore district on Friday received rainfall of 1,994.20 mm. Villupuram too received a total rainfall of 470.8 mm.

Rainfall details of Cuddalore district are: Kattumannarkoil – 164 mm, Lalpet –151 mm, Annamalai Nagar – 145.4 mm, Chidambaram – 144 mm, Cuddalore – 140 mm, Parangipettai – 138 mm, Kuppanatham – 119 mm, Kothavacheri – 112 mm, Sethiathope – 109 mm, Bhuvanagiri – 108 mm, Vriddhachalam – 95 mm, Panruti – 90 mm, Melmathur – 75 mm, Thozhudur – 60.2 mm, Lakkur, Pallanduri and Vepur – 60 mm each and Sri Mushnam – 38 mm.

Villupuram: Marakkanam – 147.6 mm, Ulundurpet – 80 mm, Kallakurichi – 72.2 mm, Villupuram – 56 mm, Vanur – 37 mm, Sankarapuram – 24 mm, Tindivanam – 22 mm, Ginjee – 17 mm and Thirukkoilur – 15 mm.
