The State government will soon launch a comprehensive healthcare scheme that will enable its employees to receive cashless treatment in government and private hospitals.

L. Bhyrappa, president, Karnataka State Government Employees’ Association, said the scheme, Jyoti Sanjeevini, would be launched within two months and it would benefit at least 5.35 lakh employees.

Mr. Bhyrappa was in the city to participate in the silver jubilee celebrations of the association of Group C and D employees of the Department of Commercial Taxes.

Mr. Bhyrappa said that though the government had implemented the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission, there was a difference of 8 per cent to 10 per cent in the salaries of Central government and State government employees.
