Hassan district received more rain between January 1 and April 25 this year than the corresponding period last year. The district received on an average 104.8 mm of rainfall during this year.
During the corresponding period last year, the average rainfall recorded in the district was 92.2 mm, according to district statistics officer Parappaswamy.
In Alur taluk, the rainfall between January 1 and April 25 in 2010 was 94.2 mm. This year there was 110.8 mm rainfall.
In Arkalgud taluk, the rainfall recorded during the same period last year was 76.2mm, while this year, it is 80.5 mm. In Arsikere taluk, there was heavy rainfall this year with the taluk recording 132 mm rain as against 90.5 mm last year. In Belur taluk, there was a slight improvement in the rainfall as the figures for this year is 129.7 mm compared to last year's 123.8 mm. C.R. Patna taluk recorded a rainfall of 117.6 mm as against last year's 90.1 mm. In Hassan taluk, the rainfall recorded last year was 84.2 mm, and this year it has gone up to 114.6 mm.
In Holenarsipur taluk, the rainfall recorded last year was 38 mm and this year it has gone up to 84.3 mm.
In Sakleshpur, the rainfall recorded this year was 116.8 mm as against last year's 93.2 mm.
