Uttarakhand Health Minister S.S. Negi has ordered 15 departments to undertake a massive awareness drive for preventing dengue, after 359 cases were detected in the State. Of these, over the past six weeks, 286 cases were reported from Haridwar and 22 from here. Three persons have died. “The departments have been asked to educate people to ensure that no cooler, flowerpot or pond is allowed to retain water,” Mr. Negi told The Hindu on Monday. — C.K.
