Chandigarh Comets registered a comfortable 3-1 win over Sher-E-Punjab in the World Series Hockey tournament here on Thursday.
Comets seized the initiative and went ahead as early as the second minute when Gurjinder Singh sounded the boards off a penalty corner. Sukhwinder Singh widened the margin seven minutes later as Comets led 2-0 at half-time.
This was Comets' second win in five games and took its tally to six points, while Sher-E-Punjab suffered its second successive reverse to remain on seven from five matches.
The result: Chandigarh Comets 3 (Gurjinder 2, Sukhwinder) bt Sher-E-Punjab 1 (Hotchkis).
