The graduation ceremony for the 83rd Naval Academy Course (NAC) and the 13th Naval Orientation Course (NOC) was held at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) at Ezhimala here on Monday.

A press release issued by the INA said the ceremony marked the culmination of the three-year degree course in B.Sc. (Naval Science) from the Goa University for 15 cadets who had joined the NAC. They were awarded graduation certificates and mark sheets issued by the university. The day also marked the completion of 22-week service training under NOC. As many as 240 trainees including 70 women were awarded course-completion certificates by Vice Admiral Anurag G. Thapliyal, Commandant of the INA.

J.A.E. Desa, Dean, Natural Science Department of the Goa University, was the chief guest on the occasion. Prof. Desa urged the trainees to live up to the expectations of the Indian Navy and the nation, during peace and war.

The INA release also said the passing-out parade for the Autumn Term 2011 would be held at the INA Parade Ground at 7 a.m. on December 3.
