NEW DELHI: The Congress-led government in Goa has hit choppy waters as some of its allies are up in arms against the style of functioning of Chief Minister Digambar Kamat. Though the Congress central leadership maintained that it has heard about this only in the media, Mr. Kamat met senior leaders in the capital on Wednesday.

The meeting was dismissed by Congress leaders as routine. They pointed out that it was routine for a Chief Minister from the party to meet senior leaders when in the capital. Mr. Kamat was here to attend a meeting called by the Finance Ministry as part of the budget-making exercise.
